About Me
My teaching career began in London, where I discovered a passion for inspiring children in mathematics - mostly because, as a child, I found the subject rather dull. I became determined to inspire all my pupils to experience maths as enjoyable and meaningful.
In 2012, I completed the Maths Specialist Teacher (MaST) programme at London's Institute of Education then went on to qualify as a Professional Development Lead with the NCETM. I supported schools in embedding the mastery approach, leading lesson studies, running workshops to strengthen subject knowledge and introducing practical strategies such as bar modelling.
As Head of Year and Assistant Headteacher, I developed a deep appreciation for teamwork and the importance of positive relationships in achieving sustained improvement.
A move to Singapore brought new opportunities as Head of Junior Mathematics at a leading international school, where I designed and implemented a new curriculum and collaborated closely with colleagues across the 3–14 age range. This experience deepened my understanding of how mathematical ideas build progressively and how children develop as mathematical thinkers over time.
I am a Chartered Teacher, with my final inquiry project researching metacognition and potential strategies to help children manage maths anxiety. I’ve attended and presented at FOBISIA and BCME conferences and co-led the Singapore branch of the Association of Teachers of Mathematics (ATM). My involvement in professional networks reflects my enthusiasm for connecting with others, sharing ideas, and continually learning from fellow teachers.
Today, I work with international schools to provide bespoke consultancy and training, helping teachers develop their practice and pupils to develop confidence, curiosity, and success in mathematics.
